WHAT DO I WEAR?
This is a fun costume event. Slip on your most fanciful caftan, red wig, and big jewelry to fully embrace those Mrs. Roper Vibes!
IS THERE A COST AND WHAT DO PROCEEDS SUPPORT?
Anyone can dress up as Mrs. Helen Roper! If you want an official commemorative $10. Proceeds benetit the Downtown West Monroe
for downtown projects and community activities. Thank you to the WMWO Chamber for sponsoring the romp!
HOW DO I PARTICIPATE IN THE SHOPPING & BAR CRAWL!
Check in at Alley Park, 250 Trenton St., beginning at 4:00 p.m. to receive your official Roper Romp Passport Bead. Participating downtown merchants will have specials are good for Friday and all-day Saturday at the festival when you show your bead!
WHERE DID WE GET THIS IDEA?
The idea originated in New Orleans in 2013 with a group ot 50 people who paraded around the French Quarter spreading joy dressed as Mrs. Roper. Since then, the event has evolved and grown into a global phenomenon, with cities hosting their own romps year-round. To our knowledge, this is the first Mrs. Roper Romp to happen in northeast Louisiana!
