A Night at Restoration Park 2025 Fundraiser

Food, friends, and fresh vegetables! Come enjoy a night centered around gardening and the benefits of having a free space for our community to access nutrient-rich, locally sourced items. You'll taste as many small bites as you can handle from local restaurants while taking a short walk through Restoration park in West Monroe, where our community garden is located. Some of our dishes will use vegetables from the garden! We will have a sampling of summer drinks, including non-alcoholic items too. Mark your calendars for August 1st from 6 to 8 pm. All the money raised goes to Keep West Monroe Beautiful, helping keep the area cleaned and greener. Handicap parking is available at the front of restoration park entrance off of Downing Pines Road. Other parking will be located a short walk away in the back of the Dodge Parking lot, we will have people to direct you.Â
It started with a conversation between Stuart Hodnett and Jessica Torricelli at Love the Boot week in 2024. We met later that week and, thanks to plants donated by the Master Gardeners, we got going! This year, the group also donated some plants to us and we started others by seen in January. We love to grow the garden at Restoration Park in West Monroe, but more importantly see people pick from it! Tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, and eggplants have done well in our space. Not only does it promote nutrient rich food in our diets, sustainability by eating locally, but also good mental health. Being outdoors in nature and getting the blood pumping is great for all of us! Our next goal is to have an herb garden in Downtown West Monroe.Â
