You’re invited to join a Community Visioning Session as part of the Downtown West Monroe placemaking and streetscape master plan. These two sessions are open to the public and will help shape the future vision of our downtown.
The City of West Monroe recently received a $99,000 USDA Rural Business Development Grant to create a redevelopment for the Cotton Port Historic District. The plan will identify projects that positively impact economic development, population growth and quality of life. Possible funding sources will also be identified as part of the plan.
The project will be led by McClure, a civil engineering firm with expertise in place-based economic and community development. The City will work alongside the McClure Placemaking team along with local and regional leaders to define a new vision for West Monroe through a people-centered approach to community development.
This is an exciting time for our downtown and community input is essential to creating a comprehensive plan. We hope to see you there!
Our two sessions will take place on:
Tuesday, September 17 at 5 p.m.
West Monroe Convention Center, 901 Ridge Ave.
Wednesday, September 18 at 8 a.m.
